BROOKSHIRE, Texas (AP) - Authorities in southeast Texas are searching for a driver they allege fled the scene of a hit and run accident that killed two bicyclists.
The Waller County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened Saturday afternoon in Brookshire, located about 40 miles (64 kilometers) west of Houston.
Investigators say that after the accident, the driver got out of his vehicle and fled the scene on foot.
The driver is described as having light skin and being between 5 foot 10 inches (1.7 meters) and 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall. He was seen wearing military fatigues, long dark pants and a tan or green backpack.
Authorities believe the suspect might have a black German Shepherd with him.
