HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Hartford Police say they’ve charged a juvenile with the shooting death of a 15-year-old boy.

Deputy Chief Brian Foley tells The Hartford Courant (https://cour.at/2nTH4aD ) the suspect has been arrested on charges of murder, tampering with evidence and carrying a pistol without a permit. The juvenile, who has not been publicly identified, was being held in juvenile detention early Saturday.

The victim, Keon Huff Jr., was found dead March 17 in the hallway of a residential building in the city’s North end. Huff had been shot once in the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Foley says the police department received a lot of information about the case from the community, including pictures and eyewitness reports.

Huff’s death was the city’s eighth homicide this year.
