BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - The neighbor of a Baton police officer has been accused of breaking into the officer’s home through a shared balcony and stealing her gun.

The Advocate (https://bit.ly/2nZ6b8Q) reports 25-year-old Marcus Johnson was arrested Wednesday and charged with aggravated burglary.

The officer told investigators she came home to find a picture on the ground and her blinds askew last October. She later noticed her back-up weapon was missing from her purse.

She told detectives that she had issues before with Johnson, with whom she shared a balcony. She also said the lock on her balcony window didn’t work.

Documents show Johnson’s girlfriend told the officer she saw Johnson with the handgun.

It’s unclear if he has an attorney.
