MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont Labor Department says a multi-state breach of a job search website may have compromised as many as 182,000 Vermont accounts.
The breach could affect anyone who had an account on the Vermont Department of Labor’s Job Link website since 2003, including those who applied for unemployment benefits and entered personal information to show they were looking for a job.
The state said Friday that vendor American Job Links Alliance, at the state’s request, has set up a toll-free hotline at 844-469-3939 for affected people seeking more information. It will operate Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. for 15 business days. The state also says the vendor will send account holders an email by March 29 on how they can register for free credit monitoring.
