BARNARDSVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Buncombe County sheriff’s detectives now say that a suspicious death in Barnardsville was a homicide.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Natalie Bailey said in a news release that deputies were called to a home around 2 p.m. Thursday.

Bailey said in a statement Friday that the victim was 45-year-old Bobby Ray Pegg II. Bailey said he died from a gunshot wound.



No arrests have been reported and no other details were available.

Barnardsville is about 15 miles north of Asheville.
