FALLON, Nev. (AP) - A 55-year-old transient from Washington State is being held in the Churchill County jail on $1 million bail as a suspect in a fatal stabbing at an historic hotel in Fallon.

The Lahontan Valley News reports (https://bit.ly/2nJCBY1) Mitchell Keith Goodrum was booked on suspicion of open murder with a deadly weapon after Tuesday night’s stabbing at the Overland Hotel.

The victim was stabbed multiple times. His name hasn’t been released. A woman who worked in the hotel’s restaurant was taken to a Reno hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Fallon Police Capt. Ron Wenger says Goodrum moved to Fallon last week and was living at the hotel built in 1908. It wasn’t immediately clear if he has a lawyer or will be appointed one at a pending court appearance.
