SEWARD, Alaska (AP) - A Seward man died in a fire at a home on the north side of the community.

Alaska State Troopers say a man believed to be 69-year-old William Block died in the fire early Tuesday.

They have notified his next of kin in Minnesota.



Fire officials just after 4 a.m. took a report of the home fire. The Bear Creek Volunteer Fire Department and the Seward Fire Department responded.

The fire destroyed the home.

Firefighters found the body at 5 a.m.

The state medical examiner will make a positive identification.
