CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) - Two Cape Girardeau men face murder charges in the fatal shooting of a man they left at a local hospital.
The Southeast Missourian (https://bit.ly/2mQKWFl ) reports that 20-year-old Nicholas R. Fairbank and 18-year-old Steffon R. Swader are charged with second-degree murder, armed criminal action, tampering with physical evidence and first-degree burglary in the killing of Ryan C. Grandi. Fairbank was also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.
Authorities say Grandi was shot at his residence in east Cape Girardeau on March 1 after Fairbank and Swader broke into the home. Both men have denied shooting Grandi.
Police say the men took Grandi to a local hospital, fleeing after emergency personnel took Grandi from the vehicle.
Swader and Fairbank face life in prison if convicted.
It wasn’t immediately clear if the men have attorneys to speak on their behalf.
