PHOENIX (AP) - An evaluation team from a medical education accreditation committee has completed a three-day site visit at the University of Arizona’s college of medicine in Phoenix, and now college officials are waiting for the results.

According to the college, the committee is expected to release a preliminary report in April and a final report in the summer.

Interim Dean Kenneth Ramos says feedback from the survey team indicated that there’s “progress toward full accreditation.”

The team met with faculty members, students and staff s while reviewing medical education, research, clinical and community programs.

The Phoenix college opened its four-year medical school program as a branch campus of the university’s Tucson medical college in 2008. The Phoenix college received separate preliminary accreditation in 2012 and provisional accreditation in 2015.
