BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - About 200 people have attended a rally on behalf of migrant workers following the arrests of several immigrants in the past week in Vermont.

Migrant Justice, an immigrant rights group, held the rally in downtown Burlington on Saturday.

The demonstrators chanted “Vermont will fight for immigrant rights” and “Migrants are welcome here.” They held signs including “Free Our Vermonters.’

Migrant Justice is demanding the release of three immigrants after a Vermont dairy worker was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Wednesday and two more were picked up on Friday evening.

Will Lambek, a Migrant Justice organizer, says the arrests represent an attack against the entire community of immigrant farm workers in Vermont.
