DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - A May trial has been scheduled for a man accused of illegally distributing painkilling drugs when he was a dentist in West Des Moines.
Thirty-eight-year-old Shawn Kerby pleaded not guilty Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Des Moines to 11 counts. His trial is set to begin May 1.
Prosecutors say Kerby had prescribed drugs to at least nine patients without properly recording them and that he regularly prescribed addictive drugs to patients he hadn’t examined in more than a year.
