DENVER (AP) - A teenager who was drunk and high when he caused a crash that killed two women in Arapahoe County has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.

The Denver Post reports (https://goo.gl/O9mveO ) 19-year-old Taden Lee Jones was sentenced Monday for the April 1 crash that killed 77-year-old Audrey Burton and 82-year-old Gayle Buckwalter, who were finishing up a day of delivering beauty products. He previously pleaded guilty to two counts of vehicular homicide while driving under the influence.

Prosecutors say Jones was driving between 60 and 70 mph in a 35 mph zone when he slammed into the car driven by Burton. Tests showed he had marijuana, cocaine and anxiety medicine in his system, and he told investigators he drank three beers in the hour before the crash.
