Deputies investigate after body found in Black River

GEORGETOWN, S.C. (AP) - Sheriff’s deputies are investigating after a body was found in the Black River.

Georgetown County authorities tell local media outlets someone saw the body and called 911 on Saturday afternoon. According to Lt. Chris Geno, the body was a few feet offshore near Col. Cole Road, which is East of Brown’s Ferry Landing.

Geno said authorities were working on getting a boat in the water to get the body out.
