PHOENIX (AP) - State troopers apprehended two wrong-way drivers in separate incidents that occurred within 20 minutes on a Phoenix freeway.
Both drivers who were stopped after going the wrong way on State Route 51 early Wednesday morning were arrested on suspicion of DUI.
Department of Public Safety spokesman Kameron Lee says a trooper located and arrested one driver who went southbound in northbound lanes and then reversed direction before exiting the freeway.
The other driver was arrested after a trooper stopped the vehicle. That vehicle first went eastbound in westbound lanes of Loop 101 and then southbound in northbound lanes of SR 51.
