LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles fire officials say nobody was hurt when flames ripped through part of a Mormon church in Van Nuys.

Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey says the blaze early Wednesday was confined to a kitchen, hallway and attic and did not damage the chapel.

It took crews about an hour to knock down the flames.

The cause is under investigation.
