TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - March could get off to a wet and windy start in New Jersey.

Forecasters say strong to severe thunderstorms are possible ahead of a cold front on Wednesday afternoon and evening.

The storms are expected to produce heavy rain, damaging wind and even the possibility of hail.

A wind advisory is in effect for Passaic, Hudson, Bergen, Essex and Union counties for Thursday. Forecasters say west winds of 15 to 25 mph could pack gusts of 45 to 50 mph.
