Andy Richter, the longtime sidekick to TBS late-night host Conan O’Brien, compared President Trump to a long-dead genocidal dictator via his Twitter account Wednesday.
The comment came Thursday afternoon as a reaction to question posed by Washington Post political journalist Chris Cillizza.
“I ask again though: Why can’t Trump be praised for delivering a good speech full stop?” Mr. Cillizza, who is generally fairly critical of the president, asked in a Twitter post Wednesday morning.
Reacting to the post more than eight hours later, Mr. Richter tweeted, “Yeah, and Hitler was nice to his dogs[.]”
Last month, Mr. Richter, responding to a follower who lamented the comedian’s sharply partisan screeds on Twitter said, “It’s pretty simple; you endanger democracy, we take away your jokes[.]”Â
And on Friday, the comedian said President Trump was the “ideal” speaker for CPAC due to his “simplistic” and “racist” vision of the world.
