GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - A former high school teacher in Glendale accused of having a sexual relationship with a female student in 2011 has been sentenced to five years in prison.
Maricopa County Superior Court officials say Allen Scott Johnson also was sentenced Thursday to lifetime supervised probation.
The 54-year-old Johnson changed his plea last month and pleaded guilty to sexual conduct with a minor and two counts of attempt to commit sexual conduct with a minor.
Glendale police arrested Johnson last September on suspicion of three counts of sexual conduct with a minor.
Johnson was employed by Cactus High School from January 2010 through December 2012.
Police say Johnson allegedly had a sexual relationship with a then 17-year-old student between January and July of 2011.
