CARNEYS POINT TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a state trooper was injured when his cruiser struck a tree.

The crash occurred shortly before noon Wednesday in Carneys Point Township.

The trooper was driving in the area of Route 48 and Pennsville-Auburn Road when he struck the tree. He was taken to a hospital, but his name and further details on his injuries were not immediately disclosed.



The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
