ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Bernalillo County Sheriff’s officials say deputies are trying to find and rescue five hikers lost in Sandoval County.
They say the sheriff department’s helicopter unit is helping deputies with the Sandoval County Sheriff’s Office locate the stranded hikers in the forest near Jemez Pueblo.
The Albuquerque Journal reported Monday evening (https://bit.ly/2rNVNoA ) that one of the hikers may have suffered a heart attack and the others may be suffering from dehydration.
The helicopter also is shuttling rescue personnel to and from the area.
