WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - A new mural that will go up in Wilmington is a tribute to the diverse residents of the West Side neighborhood.
The News Journal (https://delonline.us/2sBC5JR ) of Wilmington reports the mural will depict four tables with people of different cultural backgrounds eating various ethnic foods and a fifth table of children sharing a meal together.
The mural will be made up of 34 panels that measure 5 feet by 5 feet. Once finished it will be displayed on a brick wall at the corner of Franklin Street and Lancaster Avenue.
Members of the public were painting the panels on Sunday. A dedication ceremony is planned for June 19.
The mural is a project of three organizations: West Grows Together, Creative District Wilmington and the Wilmington Renaissance Corp.
