Teen dead after being pulled from water at Florida beach

RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A teen is dead after being pulled from the water at a Florida beach.

The Palm Beach Post reports that two people dragged 13-year-old Sylvanus Wiley to shore at Ocean Reef Park Sunday afternoon. Riviera Beach Fire Rescue says lifeguards were performing CPR when rescue crews arrived and took the boy to a nearby hospital.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says the boy was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.

An autopsy will determine an official cause of death.
