The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office told local media outlets that 19-year-old Tyrell Da’Quan Smith drowned in Belews Lake on Sunday.
Sheriff’s deputies and emergency first responders arriving at the lake about 1:30 p.m. were told that a man who was swimming went under the water and did not resurface.
