TUPELO, Miss. (AP) - Students in Mississippi are learning about bats and creating a home for the flying creatures.
The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports that the Natchez Trace Parkway and the Boys & Girls Club conducted an environmental camp last week.
Despite rain, students gathered in an outdoor classroom at the Trace, and park rangers taught them about bats and bat habitats. They explained differences between bat houses and bird houses.
Students signed a bat house that will be placed in a Tupelo city park.
