In a story June 24, The Associated Press reported that Rufus J. Tate Jr. is the attorney for a black off-duty St. Louis police officer who was mistakenly shot by a white officer. Tate is the attorney for the Ethical Society of Police, the police department’s black officers’ union, and he represents union members, including the black officer who was shot, in work-related matters.
