MAYVILLE, N.D. (AP) - The city of Mayville and the North Dakota National Guard are formally saying farewell.

The Guard stationed numerous units in the city over nearly six decades before withdrawing its presence last fall due to changes and cutbacks in the Guard structure.

A Friday ceremony at the Mayville Armory will include a unit flag-retiring ceremony. All soldiers who ever served in Mayville are being invited to stand for one final formation.
