LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Police say a Louisville officer has been shot in the foot while responding to a report about a suspicious man trying to open doors.

Police Chief Steve Conrad told media that the officer found a man fitting the description in the report Wednesday night and tried to stop him, but the man fled on foot. The officer gave chase. Conrad said when the officer turned a corner he was shot in the foot.

Conrad said the officer is being treated at University of Louisville Hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
