JEFFERSONTOWN, Ky. (AP) - A Kentucky man has been arrested after police say he overdosed on heroin while driving.
Jeffersontown police Major Lee Meredith tells WLKY-TV that Anthony Jenkins was arrested Monday on several charges, including operating a motor vehicle under the influence and possession of a controlled substance.
Police received a call Monday morning reporting that Jenkins was driving recklessly and nearly struck several cars. Meredith says police responded and found Jenkins unconscious and still in his car at a movie theater parking lot. Police allegedly had to stop the car, as it was still in drive.
Jenkins allegedly told police he has used heroin for 11 years but denied using any on Monday. Meredith says police found needles and heroin in the car.
It’s unclear if Jenkins has an attorney.
