BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) - A California man accused of posing as a doctor and charging patients for phony procedures has pleaded guilty to practicing medicine without a license.

KBAK-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2sMAvsK) Alberto Gonzalez made a deal with prosecutors Monday, just as his case was set to go before a jury.

Gonzalez agreed to a two-year sentence and prosecutors dropped three misdemeanor charges. The sentence will become official at a hearing in August.

It wasn’t the first time Gonzalez was accused of posing as a doctor. In 2012, he was sentenced to two years for operating a fake clinic in his home.

One victim said she had paid $400 for injections that turned out to be water.
