NEW YORK (AP) - Police say an 80-year-old cyclist has been struck and killed by a charter bus in Manhattan.

The fatal collision Saturday was the second involving a bicycle and a charter bus in the same neighborhood in the last week.

Saturday’s crash happened just after 1:30 p.m. at West 29th Street and Seventh Avenue. Police say the bus hit 80-year-old Michael Mamoukakis’ bicycle as the bus driver was trying to make a right turn.

Mamoukakis was pronounced dead at Bellevue Hospital. The bus driver has not been arrested.

The crash occurred just three blocks from where 36-year-old cyclist Dan Hanegby collided with a charter bus on Monday.

Hanegby also was pronounced dead at Bellevue. His death was the first involving the Citi Bike bike-share program.
