ABILENE, Texas (AP) - An Abilene man has died almost three days after he was shot by a sheriff’s deputy trying to serve him with a felony warrant.
The Texas Rangers revealed that 60-year-old Emmett Hall died early Tuesday of a wound from a Saturday night shooting.
Taylor County deputies were serving a warrant for driving while intoxicated after a Saturday traffic accident. In a statement, the Rangers said Hall threatened the deputies with a knife, prompting a deputy to shoot him.
The deputy is on paid administrative leave pending review of the incident.
