LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a California man is dead and a woman remains missing after a boating accident on Lake Havasu.

Mohave County Sheriff’s officials say witnesses called 911 about 8 p.m. Saturday to say several people were thrown into the water from a 35-foot twin-motor boat.

People on another boat rescued some of the victims, including an unconscious man who was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

Sheriff’s officials identified him as 51-year-old Bruce Buchanan of Redondo Beach, California.

They say the search for the missing woman continued Monday with divers and a remotely operated submarine.

Her name and hometown hasn’t been released.

Sheriff’s officials say alcohol use appears to be a factor in the accident, which remains under investigation.

The boat’s operator wasn’t injured and is cooperating with authorities.
