BERGMAN, Ark. (AP) - The U.S. Geological Survey says two small earthquakes, the largest being magnitude 3.6, were recorded in northwestern Arkansas.
The USGS says the 3.6 magnitude quake struck at 7:40 a.m. Sunday and a 2.4 magnitude temblor occurred 47 minutes later, both near Bergman, about 115 miles (185 kilometers) northwest of Little Rock. The USGS says the larger quake was felt as far away as Memphis, Tennessee, about 185 miles (298 kilometers) to the southeast.
No injuries or damage are reported.
Geologists say damage is not likely in earthquakes below magnitude 4.0 and the smallest quakes that are generally felt by humans are magnitude 2.5 to 3.0
The first quake was initially reported as magnitude 4.0, then downgraded to 3.2 before being placed at magnitude 3.6 following a review by the USGS.
