NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Investigators say a man found dead inside a burning home in South Carolina was shot to death.

The Charleston County Coroner’s Office identified the dead man as 55-year-old Freeman Rivers.

Police say Rivers’ body was found as firefighters put out a blaze at a North Charleston home Thursday morning.

An autopsy determined Rivers was shot and killed before the fire.

Police and fire investigators spent Thursday collecting evidence.

No arrests have been made.
