Mississippi officials believe church fire intentional

COLUMBIA, Miss. (AP) - Mississippi’s fire marshal’s office is leading an investigation into a church fire in Marion County.

WDAM-TV (https://bit.ly/2qG1BNJ ) reports officials believe someone intentionally set Mt. Zion Baptist Church on fire Sunday night. Investigator Aaron Greer says when fire crews made it to the scene, they saw something suspicious.

He didn’t provide details.

Greer says the sanctuary has smoke, fire and water damage.

There’s no word on whether the congregation will rebuild.
