OCALA, Fla. (AP) - A Florida man has been sentenced to five years in prison for his part in a fatal drive-by shooting.

The Ocala Star-Banner (https://goo.gl/QMjD1b) reports that 35-year-old Leartis Holmes was sentenced Wednesday. He pleaded no contest in April to third-degree murder.

Authorities say 44-year-old John Lee Hall was walking down a Belleview street with his family in August 2012 when a vehicle drove by and someone open fire on them. Hall’s nephew was wounded but survived. Hall died at a nearby hospital.

Prosecutors say Holmes was driving the vehicle during the shooting.

Court document didn’t list any co-defendants for Holmes.
