NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - A television meteorologist in Virginia undergoing chemotherapy for cancer treatment has shed her blond locks as she shares her battle to get well with the public.
Crystal Harper, who is on leave from her job at WVEC-TV in Hampton Roads, posted a video on her blog announcing “I’m bald!” The six-minute video showed her mom and family cutting off her hair, which was starting to fall out as a side effect of the chemotherapy.
Harper said she has received support and encouragement from thousands of viewers and others as she has received treatment.
She was diagnosed in May with Stage 2 Hodgkin lymphoma.
