SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Police say a convenience store employee is hospitalized after being shot by a man he had confronted about suspected shoplifting.
Syracuse police were called to the IBB Mini-Mart Wednesday night to investigate a shooting. Sgt. Richard Helterline says a store employee had been shot in the side of the head outside the store.
Helterline says the employee had gotten into an argument with the man about stealing. After shooting the employee, the man ran off. Police were looking for him Thursday.
Police say the wounded man is expected to recover. His name was not released.
