RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) - Authorities in Southern California say police recovered a hand grenade and 16 stolen firearms after responding to reports that a group of men were using a blow torch to cut open a gun safe in a side yard of a residence.
Officers in Riverside arrested three suspects Tuesday, including one man who was caught with a handgun in his pocket.
Police found the grenade and firearms in a car and more guns in a backpack stuffed in a trash can at the residence. Additional guns were found in the safe. Officials say the grenade was inert.
The Press-Enterprise newspaper reports (https://bit.ly/2sM9d1v ) investigators believe the safe, the guns and other stolen property were taken during a home burglary.
