PHOENIX (AP) - A Phoenix man who has already served a prison term for a firearms offense has been sentenced to 10 months in federal prison for impersonating a public safety official.
Prosecutors say 34-year-old Caleb Heath Vangrinsven was sentenced Monday for violating conditions of his supervised release.
They say a Maricopa County Superior Court judge issued a protective order in 2013 that barred Vangrinsven from harassing, stalking or threatening his then-girlfriend.
Vangrinsven wasn’t allowed to possess a firearm while the protective order was pending, but pleaded guilty in 2015 to a firearms offense and sentenced to federal prison.
After completing his term, prosecutors say Vangrinsven was served with a new order of protection involving a different woman and was accused of falsely identified himself as a member of the Phoenix Fire Department.
