NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A driver has turned himself in after a fatal hit-and-run in Tennessee struck three pedestrians from India.
WSMV-TV reports the Sunday night hit-and-run left one man dead and two women injured. Police say the victims were visiting Nashville for a convention and were walking to a restaurant when they were hit shortly before 11 p.m.
Witnesses told police that a man in a pickup truck had stopped because construction was blocking his lane, but sped off once it was cleared. He then hit the pedestrians and kept driving.
A police affidavit says 45-year-old Ronnie William Taylor is charged with vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident, not reporting an accident and driving on a suspended license. It wasn’t clear whether he has an attorney.
The victims were reportedly walking in the road because there was no sidewalk.
