MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - A North Carolina woman was killed when a car struck the golf cart she was riding in at a South Carolina beach.
Horry County Deputy Coroner Tony Hendrick identified the victim as 65-year-old Kathern Snipes of Greensboro, North Carolina.
Police in North Myrtle Beach told multiple media outlets that Snipes died when a motorist attempted to pass another car at a high rate of speed on Wednesday and hit the cart. Snipes died at the scene.
North Myrtle Beach public information officer Pat Dowling said a man on the golf cart was hospitalized in critical condition.
