NEW YORK (AP) - Police in New York City are searching for a driver who struck 18-year-old skateboarder in a fatal hit-and-run crash.

The crash happened in Brooklyn around 3 p.m. Sunday. Surveillance video shows the skateboarder crossing an intersection before being struck and run over by a BMW SUV that was turning.

The driver of the SUV didn’t stop. Several motorists and pedestrians stopped to help the victim.



The teen was taken to a hospital where he later died. Police identified the teen Monday morning as Tello Alejandro, who lived a few blocks from where he was hit.

No arrests have been made.
