CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Thousands of customers have lost power in West Virginia as overnight thunderstorms moved through the region.

Appalachian Power says on its website that about 7,900 customers were without power in southern West Virginia on Sunday and about 400 customers had no service in the Northern Panhandle.

FirstEnergy Corp. says about 3,400 customers had no service, including about 900 in Marion County.
