GRANTSVILLE, Md. (AP) - A miner in western Maryland has been flown to a hospital to be treated for back injuries.
The Cumberland-Times News reports (https://bit.ly/2uJmz31 ) the miner was injured Friday at the Casselman deep mine and was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia.
Jay Apperson, a spokesman for the Maryland Department of Environment, says the miner’s injuries were not life-threatening.
The mine is owned by Corsa Coal Corp, of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.
