GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a 33-year-old man has been sentenced to life in prison after his former girlfriend said he shot and killed a man at a South Carolina nightclub who was annoying him.

Prosecutors said Tony Leamon was found guilty of murder Thursday in the June 2014 shooting at The Black and Mild Club in Greenville.

Solicitor Walt Wilkins said that 31-year-old Joseph Marion was shot in the front of the head and gunshot residue was found in his mouth.

Wilkins said in a news release that Leamon confessed to his former girlfriend, who testified at his trial that he told her Marion was annoying him.

Leamon will not be eligible for parole.
