MIDDLETOWN, Pa. (AP) - State police say three cows were still on the loose days after a truck driver released 101 cows when the tractor-trailer hauling them caught fire on a Pennsylvania highway.
The fire happened about 8:30 a.m. on Route 283 in Lower Swatara Township. That’s about 5 miles (8 kilometers) southeast of Harrisburg, the state capital.
Police say all but three of the cows had been found by Wednesday. One is being blamed for causing a car crash about 10 p.m. Saturday.
Dave Wolfgang, of the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, tells WHTM-TV (https://bit.ly/2tqdxIA ) that people shouldn’t try to wrangle the cows themselves. They should call 911. Otherwise, the cows might become spooked and trample you in the process.
