WELLS, Maine (AP) - Police in Maine say a bicyclist from Massachusetts has been injured in a crash.

Authorities say the crash occurred in Wells Monday morning. Police say 52-year-old Philip Philbin, of Clinton, Massachusetts was struck by an SUV being driven by a 17-year-old.

Philbin was not wearing a helmet during the time of the crash and suffered a severe head injury. He has been taken to a hospital for treatment.



Lt. Jerry Congdon says Philbin may have veered into the SUV but maintains police are conducting a full reconstruction of the crash.

Police don’t believe drugs or alcohol were involved. The driver has not been charged.
