LACEY, N.J. (AP) - First responders in New Jersey say they were able to revive a woman after she drowned trying to save a dog.
The Asbury Park Press reports (https://on.app.com/2updYmL ) the Forked River Fire Department and Lacey Township Underwater Rescue and Recovery dive team were travelling to an emergency call for a dog struggling in water around 7 p.m. Thursday when the woman tried to rescue it.
Lacey Township EMS Capt. Ray Benedetti says the Forked River Fire Department began CPR before the drowning victim was rushed to a hospital by an ambulance supported by emergency personnel from three different area agencies. The woman had regained a pulse by the time the ambulance reached the hospital.
Information on the woman’s condition was not immediately available.
