MARYVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A house in Tennessee has exploded, leaving two adults dead.
Local media reports Blount County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Marian O’Briant says deputies and firefighters responded to a Maryville home Thursday evening and found the house destroyed.
O’Briant says investigators assisted by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation are sifting through the rubble and working to determine the cause of the explosion.
The two victims have not been identified. Authorities do not know if they were residents of the home. State property records show the house was owned by Donald and Carey Knight.
A section of the road will be shut down for an undetermined amount of time, but residents will be allowed access.
